Automotive paint contains flammable solvents and isocyanates. Follow all safety protocols for basecoat, clearcoat, primer, sealer, epoxy primer, and 2K urethane products.
ANSI Z87.1 rated safety goggles or splash-proof glasses. Required when mixing or spraying any automotive paint, including single-stage and 2K urethane.
NIOSH-approved organic vapor respirator (OV/P100) for spraying. Supplied air respirator recommended for isocyanate-containing clearcoat and 2K products.
Chemical-resistant coveralls or paint suit. Nitrile or butyl rubber gloves. Automotive paint solvents can cause dermatitis on contact.
Nitrile gloves (minimum 8 mil thickness) for mixing. Butyl rubber gloves for extended contact with reducers, hardeners, and catalysts.
Proper ventilation is critical when working with automotive paint products. Always work in a well-ventilated area, preferably a dedicated spray booth with downdraft filtration.
